Do the Dead Talk?

Now after two drinks, one slushie something with rum in it and a flask of sex on the beach, (wish I was there!) I was beginning to mellow. Mr. Man shows up and promptly goes inside the house. Oh yes, I forgot to mention we were all sitting outside on the patio around a round table, smoking and drinking except for darling daughter who is looking at dirty magazines of men. But we won't go into that.
By now I am shoveling that slushie in again. It sure was tasty but I did notice a slight buzz around my head now. Mr. Man walks back outside, lights a cigarette, and starts talking about animal totems. Darling daughter hides the magazines and starts making a basket. I'm swatting at this big gigantic horse fly. He seems to like us, not so sure Mr. Man does. So since he is killing time, so do I and I light a cigarette too. Somehow, I can not seem to stay focused on Mr. Man's totems and lose interest and start looking at his nice white teeth. I notice how straight they are. Apparently my interest in his teeth made him look at me all that much more. The sun is going down now and those teeth seem to gleam at me. I was beginning to wonder just what was in that slushie.
He talks and smokes for almost half an hour. I just smoke with him and shovel slushie. Then he asks who is related to who and says that the ones who are related will go together as he doesn't know if he can get the dead back for the second person if we separate. Once they leave, he says, they do not come back. Okay, that makes sense.
Now he asks who is going first. Everyone looks around the table like now they are scared. So, of course I pipe up and say we will. By now darling daughter has her small basket done so she gets up and follows me, who is following Mr. Man.
Mr. Man goes thru the screen door and I wonder why the handle didn't fall off for him. He must have that magic touch. Good thing I didn't touch it again. I already had to hunt it up the first time it hit the floor when I went to the bathroom. Silently we filed one by one thru the living room, down the hall and into a small bedroom where he had set up. Our hostess went to get another chair as she had allowed for only two people to be there. Mr. Man went in first and sat down at the far end of the room as if there was a far end. It was a tiny bedroom with bunkbeds, a dresser and a small table. I am surprised we all fit in there. There was no room to shut the door but then everyone else was outside. On the table in front of us, he had lit a white candle. I noticed it had been used before and was half burnt. I wonder what he does if it runs out in the middle of a sitting? In a line next to the candle were crystals of various sizes and colors. I didn't think to check how many as he started moving them around to suit himself. On the left of the candle he had set up a tape recorder. So here we sat in this little semi circle, Mr. Man, me and darling daughter. He asked if we had ever talked to the dead before. Well, hell no! That's what I thought, but being the polite little lady, I replied, hmmm no. I can't believe darling daughter was so quiet. You can't wake the dead.

Isn't this fun? I am going to continue this tomorrow! lol!

Our little party

Once in a while my darling daughter really comes up with some good ones for me. She kept this a secret until she was sure I could go with her. Her friends from work decided to have a man who talks to the dead come to their home and do a reading. I guess that is what you would call it. Since I have never talked with the dead, I really didn't know what to expect. But I will tell you how that day went.

We were suppose to leave at 2:30 to attend a sex party. You know, the ones where they sell all the sex gadgets and items. But darling daughter was pokey and had just got out of the shower when I got to her house. So I sat and watched her piddle around for awhile and then dry her hair. She packed a bag so she could make her baskets. Now mind you, we are suppose to be there at three. We didn't even leave the house until after. This is a fifteen minute trip, so I really wasn't worried about being late. I hadn't planned on buying anything anyway. I was driving, so we headed out. She said get on the interstate (I didn't know where this chick lived) so I did. Then get off at Mousette lane. I did. She said hmm, go straight across (thinking it was the frontage road) I did. I wound up back on the interstate! lol! So, we get off at the next exit. She says turn around and go back. I say we can't turn here? I didn't hear her say go under the bridge and turn. So I turned (U-turn) and wind up back on the interstate. By now we are laughing uncontrollably. We go down to the next exit and get off. By now I need gas, so she gets on the phone and I start looking for a station. She calls her friend for directions who of course is not going to the party. I find a station and try to pump gas only to find out I have to go in and prepay. Think they have a problem with people stealing gas? lol! The whole time I am doing this darling daughter is on the phone. She directs me to the house of the lady who ISN'T going and we end up in her driveway. Then we get the the sex lady's phone number and call her. So now we have wasted 45 minutes and gone no where! She calls sex lady. We get directions. It is after 4 by now and as we head for there pyschic lady calls us. Says bring chocolate milk and cigs on our way. Also bring our swim suits, they have a pool and hot tub. I'm hot, she's hot. We look at each other and say screw the sex party.

Okay, so she half lied when she talked to sex party lady. We did get a phone call, and we did go check on Dad (when I got my suit and towel). We just cruised on by the sex party and went to her house where she got her suit. Of course she had bought a new one and never tried it on, so we wasted some more time while she checked herself out in the mirror. It passed so we went to my house and gathered my suit and towel. Okay, now you think we are ready to go to the pyschic party. Wrong! We need rum so we got down the hill and stop at the liquor store. Okay, ready? Wrong. She's hungry, we haven't eaten all day. McDonalds is right down the road, so we are sitting there in the drive thru behind 5 other cars. So we talk. Lisa isn't going, do you think we should call her other sister and ask her if she wants to go? Oh, yeah, she has no phone. So we get our food and turn around and go back to my house because sister lives right behind me. Sister says, thanks but no thanks, I am staying home to watch the ballgame and relax.
Okay, it is now Lord knows what time and we are getting punchy just from trying to get out of our own area.

I ask her do you need to stop and shop anywhere? She laughs! We hit the interstate and she drags out the mapquest directions. By now I have turned over the car to her. I am already tired of driving. Directions are quite clear. I look at total mileage and say 81 miles! I need a fuzz buster. She drives good but she drives fast. So we start on our journey. Now the man is going to be there by seven so we are busting a gut getting there. We did good except when we got to the country road. They have no numbers on their mailbox. We had to turn around and go back down the road after a phone call. But of course that wasn't easy either and she wasn't getting any reception on the road, so we had to find a place where her phone would work.

Woohoo! We found the house. I needed a drink. A couple of them. We actually got there before he did and I got em! Okay, I gotta babysit soon, so will finish the party after while.

It is Hot Outside!

I was suppose to go fishing today but it is just tooooooo hot! So I cleaned my house, checked my store. That was a mistake! I went shopping instead! lol! I bought a niddy noddy. I could have made one but why go to all the work? I am really ready to take on the next step. I plied my singles the other day. I actually was impressed at how well my first efforts turned out. I have them rolled into balls while I wait for my niddy noddy. According to their instructions I can put the whole thing in water to relax my yarn. Cant wait to see how this turns out.

Then Friday, I took the dogs to the groomers and stopped at Michaels on the way home. What was I thinking? lol! This is a week for spending. I bought a book on felting. Good thing we have a new store opened. My daughter put it in her name and we call it cozycorners. We are going to put all our crochet, knit and felted projects there. I have two dozen flowers to take pics and list yet. Should be doing that today but I want to watch the ballgame.

Yesterday was a busy day. My poor old dog has a large lump under his throat and up his face. I called my groomer and she said she didn't see it Friday. So I called my vet. Well, excuse me! I have been going there for years. Apparently, they didn't think it was an emergency, so they told me they could get him in Monday. That didn't fly with me. I started calling people and finally got him into another animal hospital. They were going to aspirate it, but then they got blood return. I was hoping for a cyst, but it doesn't look that way. They took three slides of blood and shipped it off to the lab for examination. Then he started talking about how he does chemo of five other dogs. Hmmm. That didn't sound good. He also made the comment about if it was cancer in his lymph nodes that there is never a good prognosis for it. We should have results no later than Thursday.

I have had physic readings before but last night, C and I traveled 81 miles to a party. The guest of the party specialized in talking to the dead. Since I have never had that type of experience, I decided to go. I got to hear from both my parents, step parents, aunt, uncle and someone I didn't or don't think I know. Was quite interesting.

Okay, game time. Cya later.

Woohoo! Summer is here!

We had graduations, dances, craft shows, birthdays and weddings this month! I think I need sleep! No time for sleep! I have to get crackin'! I have joined showme team at etsy and we are working hard to get our team started. We have a webjam site if anyone is interested. It is a wealth of information on us. Come check us out. We also have opened a store in etsy. Come see www. ShowmeEtsy.com. I have some new dresses out!

I also got my drop spindle out and finished making some yarn. Now I am hooked. I just ordered more roving this morning. I can't wait until I get it. I am thinking maybe making a purse and felting it. I haven't felted before (except by accident) but I think I can! I can!

Any one want to buy a 1978 motorhome, Class A? Just let me know and I will give you more details. Hubby has finally accepted the fact he isn't going camping any more. He just can't take the heat and humidity.

Okay, I will try to be better this month and list more items and post more posts! See ya soon!

Managing my day.....

is always a chore. There just isn't enough hours in the day.

I have all these ideas and can't seem to get them out of my head and into material form with all of my commitments. My day starts early with getting grandkids off to school and watch any where from one to two small ones from two down.

But I did manage to win 7th place in the Granny Bowl Tournament. I won a whole twenty five dollars! Woohoo! Hey, don't knock it! I was surprised I even placed! Our best bowler came in 12th and our second best bowler, .............. well lets just say she had a bad day!

I need to make a list today of things to check into. My daughter wants to change our business name and make it shorter. Which is okay, but we can't find a name we like. Then we have to change it with the tax people. Of course, then we would have to have new business cards made up. We can't change our etsy name, so we would just have either just put it all in edit form and then make a new store and relist or just let it all expire. Of course then we have to hook up the new store to our paypal account. Then if we get propay............ well you get the idea, the list just keeps going. Is it worth it?

We are doing a one day show with four other shops in our street team. This is going to be held in Tower Groves Park, St. Louis, Missouri. The one date we have is June 21st. We are doing a mock set up the Saturday before just to see how it will work out. Of course we do most of our shows in the fall and winter since we knit and crochet. But my partner and daughter has been make flower pot pens which she has been selling at work. They will be our one and only item we are putting in the June show. Crossing our fingers and praying that we haven't invested all this money and time into something that won't sell. If the bank is any indication, then we should do well. Or at least break even.

Between Cara trying to sew (she's two), I have managed to get a few more outfits out there on Etsy. You can see them at www.everlastingcraftycre.etsy.com I just need a few more ideas for them. I also need to try to list everyday. But getting that done with babies hanging on my hip is hard to do. By the time they go home, all I want to do is take a bath and sleep.

Doing laundry now, I hear the washer buzzing at me. We have another bowling tournament this weekend. The team is leaving Saturday morning and we won't be back until Sunday afternoon. I am going and counting this as a vacation. With the price of gas as high as it is, I doubt whether we will take the RV out of the yard. I do plan on taking the pontoon out on weekends though. I might have to learn how to tent camp all over again. Hubby won't go. He has such breathing problems that he can't hardly sit on the front porch without huffing and puffing.

This must be my ramble day!

Where did this month go?

I seem to have lost a lot of days this month! lol! Let's see, we've had colds, the flu, company, more flu..............hmm. Okay, I think we are past that now. So lets move forward.

Well, bowling is now over except for the tournaments we are attending before next season. If fact, I am bowling my first one this afternoon. It is called the Granny bowl! Appropriate for our team, since almost all of us are Grannies! Our team name is Change-A-Comin' which should say Change-Is-Here! I swear! We all have hot flashes!

My cousin and my aunt came up from West Plains this week. It was great seeing them as my hubby has been feeling so bad this last six months, he hardly leaves the house. My 87 yr old aunt is in better condition than he is! They stayed only two days but it was great! My cousin had taken my quilt tops back home with her last time she came. She knew a lady that would do my quilting for me. I can make tops, I just don't have the patience to hand quilt. The lady who quilted this one for me, said we did a great job putting it together.

Seems like I have been making more doll clothes and trying to come up with more ideas. I still have not finished my doll closet. I just haven't felt like painting. Lets hope I can get to that in a few weeks. I have been giving away my hangers as free gifts when I sell Blythe clothes. I need to make more of those too. I am out! I have revised my skirts and made them fuller. The last one was maybe a little too full but it still looks good. It is hard to get all that gathered and in the waistband but I did it. My crop top pattern is easy to make and looks great with the skirts. I will post that picture separately from this post.

Okay will get some coffee and brb!

Keeping busy.........

with family and business is more than a full time job. I think it would be easier to go back to a real job! lol! But I think that is out of the question anymore. I thought retiring I would get to create, create, but it's more like change diapers, change diapers. Not that I don't love them, but I thought I was all thru with that! We are now on a new phase and I think that this one will take a lot of work. My youngest daughter brought home a magazine listing all the different types of learning disabilities. Of course we have been concerned that our darling Cara isn't speaking as much as she should at this point. She actually has been backtracking instead of increasing her vocabulary. Since her older brother had speech problems, I wasn't so worried but it is now time to face the truth. She actually has many of the problems they describe. I think that after her next visit to the pediatrician they will give us ways to help her. But for now, we are trying things like holding a block up next to your mouth and saying the color, such as green, green. She thinks we are funny and laughs at us. Hopefully, she will start to copy. She understands everything you say and has just started nodding yes or no. She points to pictures and you can ask her where the bird is and she gets it right. She gets most of them right. She just doesn't talk.

So last night, I played hooky from bowling (tired) and went to the book store for some help. The magazine recommended signing. I couldn't believe what all is out there on the market! I wound up buying three different books on signing. I took one to my daughter so she can start with one, and I kept two for me. I even bought me a book. Soapmaking, but that's another post! lol!

Well, Cara liked the picture cards and watched us as we made the signs and said the words. We will start small and slow, but better a start than none. We will see, time will tell. Will keep this alive so I can see how she progresses.
